The role and functions of industrial engineering team is crucial to the industry. Engineering function is to set the foundation (standards) in line with the target unit costing and to develop best techniques and tools to meet desired time along with the primary focus on optimizing all the manufacturing resources to reduce deficiency and to remain competitive, in turn supervisors and line workers are trained to adapt and maintain those standards in response to the key drivers of organizational goals. This workshop articulates around the techniques to design and standardized economical and practical work methods, to streamline processes and to ensure smooth balanced flow amongst manufacturing processes at the pace of the internal and external demands

Manufacturing Industry is a labour-intensive where establishing a time value against a list of operations – product is a must in order to plan and budget manufacturing resources and to define the labour cost of that specific product. Therefore, most of the manufacturing industry relies on time studies techniques which do not reflect the international standards benchmark for the company to itself against its internal time values that include deficiency. The reliance on Time Studies make time value inaccurate and at risk always. Most available predetermined system used by the industry are based on the Predetermined time system (PTS), hereafter known as MTM 1 and 2) Methods and Time Measurement). MTM is a MUST to every engineer or work-study analyst to learn and apply practically. There are no time analyst without embedding the knowledge of MTM. This workshop will cover the methodology and techniques for factory to build their own time standards (SAM.SMV) and to ensure their standards are up to the international standards.

In many of today's companies, the role of most supervisors is limited to general work and are not related to productivity no are they in line with management’s expectations. The supervisor is the linchpin around which all productivity targets revolve. Productivity goals cannot be achieved without the direct support of the supervisor who is responsible for creating balanced and smooth workflow regardless of the skill levels of the operators under his/her supervision. This program aims to equip production supervisors with the essential knowledge, skills and abilities which would allow them to effectively perform their tasks satisfactorily on a continuing basis. The proposed supervisor training programme is flexible, practical and aligned towards developing the abilities of a supervisor in a rapid and cost-effective manner without bringing any disruption to current factory operations. The new role of supervisors is suitable for lean manufacturing.

Sewing machine operators (SMOs) working in safe and ethical environments are expected to achieve productivity goals set by management. They are also expected to produce right-first time quality product and collaborate with fellow line workers in ensuring production flow is smooth and that their lines are balanced. training programme is practical and aligned with the essential needs of the new recruits. They will learn how to possess good dexterity, apply economical movements, maintain safe and organised workstations, and adjust their sewing machines. They will learn to work in a timely manner and be able to perform all the assigned sewing operations according to the SMVs / SAM (Standard Allowed Minutes) established by the engineering team and to the quality norms required for the product. The training program employs a scientific approach ensuring the achievement of the trainee exceeds 75% of performance targets after completion each topic and of the 10-day program.
